Issue

Young innovative people in Ghana lack the capacity, access to networks and resources they need to create solutions to local governance challenges. Can young people be empowered with the information, networks, skills and resources they need to solve local governance problems and catalyse development?

Project

iSpace actively seeks to encourage and solicit committed individuals and teams that have ideas for technical governance innovations in order to help them to develop their products. Activities include:

·  a lab to assist in leveraging open data from the Ghana Open Data Initiative, aimed at entrepreneurs, data journalists and analysts, to make existing information more meaningful, readable and searchable

·  building and encouraging civic tech start-ups

·  talks and training on civic education and good governance for professionals, educators, government and civil society representatives

·  online chat forums and You Tube content on civic engagement and education.
