Issue

Much of the work to date on mobile health (mHealth) has focused on small-scale, disparate pilots. But, in the past couple of years there has been a shift to large-scale, national level mHealth initiatives that don't just improve health service organisation and delivery; they are changing how health system workers engage with each other, and how patients and other citizens interact with health system actors and governments on health-related matters.

Project

This study will review health-related projects funded under Making All Voices Count to better understand how ICTs can support citizen accountability and engagement in relation to health systems. The study aims to explore the extent to which ICT innovations have facilitated behaviour change, and to understand which forms of citizen engagement are emerging in health systems.
