On March 25, Making All Voices Count together with Peshawar 2.0 and Code for Pakistan launched a competition to find innovators from Pakistan with inspiring ideas on the following themes:

• Tech for better governance and improved public service delivery
• Tech for citizens’ advocacy, activism and digital security

Winners of the competition will receive funding to attend the Digital Youth Summit, an opportunity to pitch their to the Making All Voices Count team, and if successful, will be supported by the South to South lab and may granted funding up to 40,000 GPB.

Pitching events are another tool to surface potentially innovative and impactful ideas from individuals and organizations who may be more comfortable in verbally presenting their prospective ideas, rather than submitting in the written form.

The Digital Youth Summit brings together the next generation of digital innovators in Pakistan, with a primary focus on technology entrepreneurship, online work and tech for social innovation.

Pakistan is one of the 12 countries, Making All Voices Count works in to promote effective and accountable governance. The winner of the programme’s first Global Innovation Competition, Bahawalpur Service Delivery Unit, is led by a Pakistan government official who partnered with a technology and design initiative to improve service delivery in under-resourced areas with a data-driven performance management system.

For this competition, any entity from Pakistan is welcome to apply: companies, government actors, non-profits, for-profits, education establishments, NGOs or individuals.

Applications close on 20 April 2015.
