Ahead of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit in Paris (#OGP16), a delegation of local government officials from the Bojonegoro Regency will be visiting the Institute of Development Studies to share learning and experience about implementing Indonesia’s open government commitments.  Bojonegoro is one of 15 local governments from across the world which are participating in the OGP’s Subnational  Government Pilot Programme. Mr Suyoto Ngartep Mustajab, Regent of Bojonegoro, will make a presentation on innovations in sub-national governance in the Regency.

In under five years, the OGP has grown from eight founding governments to include nearly 70 countries. Each OGP government partners with civil society to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to improve governance. OGP has become a global movement of reformers working to make their governments more effective and responsive to citizens.

The Subnational Government Pilot Programme supports the growing community of reformers who work on open government in subnational policy spaces. For the next two years, the local governments involved in the programme will work closely with local civil society organisations to develop their own specific commitments to open government, and will join in learning and networking events.
