A Learning Event will be held later this year, and in order to prepare for this, the programme will undertake the following:

  • A series of e-Dialogues
  • A Review of Experience

Making All Voices Count’s e-Dialogues will run January 20 – January 24, 2014 and bring together a wide range of experts in the field to provide a platform for knowledge-sharing. It will utilise a combination of real-time and asynchronous online tools and approaches in order to convene a series of discussions amongst a diverse range of participants (geographically, sectors, thematic interests and experience) in a virtual space.

This online event is spread over 5 days, and the title of the Making All Voices Count programme will be used to frame each session:

Making: understanding of the conditions for fostering the right kind of innovation to Make All Voices Count
All: the aim of inclusiveness in transparency and accountability (T&A) work, and within Making All Voices Count
Voices: the expression of citizen engagement with the state or corporate actors on issues related to transparency and accountability (in tech-for-T&A initiatives, mediated by technology)
Count: government responsiveness to citizens’ exercise of voice.

Four researchers at IDS, Duncan Edwards, Evangelia Berdou, Patta Scott-Villiers and Rosie McGee, will each lead on one thematic word, undertaking the role of the respective Theme Convenor for the e-Dialogue and lead researcher for the Review of Experience.

Participation is limited, however the opening plenary session will occur 11.00 – 12.00GMT and will be made public. To do view this, click here and enter your name and email. The webinar will be made live commencing 11.00 am GMT.
