The Liberia Citizen-Government Engagement Project (CGEP) of The Global Citizens’ Initiative (TGCI) works towards increasing knowledge and awareness of citizens on the importance of reporting sexual abuse and rape. With a scaling grant from Making All Voices Count, it is expanding its use of simple technology-based interventions to enhance citizen-government collaboration and reduce the incidence of sexual abuse of children.
Scaling up the existing work demands a robust assessment of the project’s impact. TGCI is using its Making All Voices Count practitioner research and learning grant to carry out this assessment using a developmental evaluation approach.
Project
Developmental evaluation of this initiative will involve three sets of learners:
- project staff, who will learn about the impact the project is having on stakeholder perceptions, attitudes, practices and relationships, and use these insights to make adjustments as appropriate in the project design
- community-based stakeholder participants, who will learn how a development project can be improved by listening to those involved
- county and national level government officials, who will gain insights into how voices at the community level can contribute to the improvement of national level policies, and how they themselves can work more effectively across ministries.
